Born in St. Louis, Mo., singer, songwriter and actor JULIUS WILLIAMS was first introduced to his musical career at the tender age of seven singing in church and a variety of community and school plays.
Recognized as a gifted artist for his flawless execution and strong delivery, and now known simply as JULIUS, he is a charismatic performer whose renowned harmonious melodies is synonymous with packed houses and captivated audiences.
JULIUS is an extraordinary entertainer who has successfully been able to incorporate a wide range of musical influences – including R&B, Jazz, Rock, Pop, Hip-Hop, Latin, Reggae and Country – into a distinctive style that defies a categorization. While attracting fans from all over the world, he is best known for his crossover voice ability influenced by great artists such as Luther Vandross, Al Jarreau, George Benson, Stevie Wonder, Teddy Pendergrass, Frankie Beverly, Charlie Wilson, Freddie Jackson, Michael McDonald, Phil Collins, Kenny Loggins, Steely Dan and even Michael Jackson – just to name a few. His music and style has been widely praised by critics and fans alike, nationally and internationally. He has performed with entertainment greats including Aretha Franklin, Chuck Mangione, Roy Ayres, Jeffrey Osborne, Will Downing, Baby Face, The Whispers, Phyllis Hyman, Grover Washington, Regina Belle, Nancy Wilson, Kool & the Gang, Herb Alpert, Howard Hewett, Toni Braxton and the Temptations. He has performed with acclaimed comedians Tommy Davidson and Dennis Miller.
In January, 2010, JULIUS entertained DC Councilman-At-Large, Michael A. Brown at the Capitol in Washington, D.C. and in March he hosted and performed for the American Liver Foundation fundraiser gala in Marina Del Rey, California. In July, JULIUS performed for the National AKA Chairs Convention in St. Louis. This performance was followed by entertaining President Good Luck Jonathan in Lagos, Nigeria in November.
In previous years, JULIUS performed and entertained in Paris, France in 2009; at the St. Jude Children's Hospital charity fundraiser in Memphis, Tennessee for Debbie Gorman (Gorman & Gorman Associates, LLC) in 2008; and in 2005 at the Links Ball in Fresno, California, benefitting the Sickle Cell Foundation fundraiser. From 1985 to 1988, JULIUS performed in Chevrolet commercial campaigns for the National Tri State Commission on the east coast; and played the role of Sergeant Myers in two Perry Mason episodes in 1986. In Denver, Colorado JULIUS performed at five star jazz clubs and several ski resorts: Vail, Winter Park, Breckenridge and Steamboat. He also performed at the Denver Cherry Creek Musical Arts Festival. During his musical career Julius sung the National Anthem for the National Football League (NFL), National Basketball Association (NBA) and Major League Baseball (MLB) in various venues across the country.
While living and performing electrifying shows at the Hilton Lounge in Las Vegas, JULIUS won the Las Vegas Entertainer of the Year Sammy Davis Jr. Award in 2006 and 2007. Other performing venues include some of the largest casinos in the United States such as the legendary Stardust Hotel, Bally’s Hotel and the Venetian Hotel and Casino.
JULIUS released his first CD in 2008. Written by him, “My Time,” includes such songs as Boulevard, So Much Love, Blowing My Mind, Never Forget, Stuck On You, I'm In Love, People All Over The World, All Night, Get Up and Sweat, Love Is For Real and People (Remix). In addition to the recently released single, I Gottcha Bak, he is currently working on a second CD, “I Love You Nice,” for release in 2012.
JULIUS, who recently returned and making Denver, Colorado his home, has brought his exhilarating and soul stirring Las Vegas performance, The Julius Show, to the Mile Hi City. The Julius Orchestra is assembled from some of Denver's finest musicians. His most recent display of talent includes his “Standing On The Shoulders…” show saluting legends such as Louis “Satcho” Armstrong, Sammy Davis, Jr., Luther Vandross, Teddy Pendergrass, Nat King Cole, Barry White and Michael Jackson.
Always growing and developing his career, JULIUS would like to expand his talents to writing and performing for children on television or the movie screen. His dreams are to start a Back for the First Time foundation for homeless children; establish a musical learning center and art school for young people; and finally, never forgetting his roots, to perform in his own swanky nightclub!
