FAQs About Booking Agents and Colorado Wedding and Special Event Bands
"I want a band that will keep the dance floor packed all night long. I want the band to be able to play all the great songs from the past, but I also want to hear songs by some of today’s most popular artists, and I want the songs to sound like the original recordings."
This is a very common request. The good news is that there are many outstanding bands in Colorado that are perfect for weddings and other special events that do exactly this.
"My budget won’t allow me to hire a large band, but I don’t want a DJ. Aren’t there any other options?"
There are many excellent small to medium sized bands that provide great dancing entertainment, and at a price far less than the much larger bands.
"How much does a live band cost?
Many factors effect the price: The location of the event, the length of time that you want a band to perform, etc. However, following are some sample prices for 4 different sizes of bands. In general, these prices are for a 3-hour performance, include the band's PA and lighting systems, and are for events taking place in the Denver metro area.
Disclaimer: the following prices are intended to provide a rough idea of pricing for budgeting purposes only, and are not a "quote".
• Small combo: 3-4 pieces / $1,500.00 - $3,000.00
• Medium sized dance band: 5-6 pieces / $3,000.00 - $4,000.00.
• Large dance band: 7-8 pieces / $4,000.00 - $5,000.00
• Very large dance band: 9-10 pieces or more / $5,000.00 - $7,500.00
"How much does a string ensemble for my ceremony cost?"
As with band pricing above, travel, length of performance, special requests, all can effect the cost. But following is basic pricing structure for strings for a ceremony:
• Solo Violin: $400.00
• Duo: $650.00:
• Trio: $875.00
• Quartet: $1,150.00
There are literally hundreds of bands in the Denver market that advertise that they perform for weddings and other private events. But the truth is that only a fraction of them are truly qualified to handle such a performance setting.
It is a talent agent's job is to know the current talent pool, to know which bands and entertainers are the best at what they do, and to know which ones are best at what.
Most client's simply don't have the time to locate and evaluate the many bands, musicians and entertainers that are in the market place, and they definitely don't have the time to go out to see them all. As a result, they are likely missing out on great options by not contacting a reputable talent agent. As a result,
My Experience & Knowledge. I have worked non-stop since 1987 to stay on top of the current local talent pool... to know which bands, musicians and entertainers are at the top of their game, and also to know which ones are best in which situations.
Communication. Over the years I've learned that utilizing additional persons to communicate with my clients regarding the details of their event - and then to have that person, and perhaps yet another, relay those details to the entertainers - can cause "variations" and often incorrect "interpretations" of these very important details to be relayed to the entertainers. This is why you will communicate only with me throughout the entire process, from initial consultation, through the the communicating of the last small detail of your event.
Value. I don't have assistants or an office staff... or an expensive office. This helps me keep my over-head low, and allows me to offer my knowledge, experience, as well as the best bands, musicians and entertainers at the best prices anywhere.
Integrity & Honesty. I am very proud of my reputation for being honest and fair, and for being an expert handler of details.I am recognized for these qualities both by my clients, event planners, venue management personnel and caterers, as by Colorado’s bands, musicians and entertainers.
